Chamber of Commerce Receives BEST Award

Natalie Knudsen, representing the Hartsville-Trousdale Chamber of Commerce, received the Businesses Empowering Students and Teachers (BEST) award on Friday, October 14, at Volunteer State Community College. The award is sponsored by the North Central P-16 Council.

The BEST Award celebrates the accomplishments of community leaders and supporters, business owners, and entrepreneurs who initiate improvements and strengthen connections needed to foster student success in students pre-K through postsecondary education.

The Chamber was recognized for its implementation of the Career Day for TCHS juniors and seniors and its efforts in developing projects connected with Dickens on the Square for art students in grades K-12. TCHS Career Day introduces students to a variety of career options through business and service organization participation, helping them to explore career paths and understand the educational requirements needed to attain their goals.

“It was an honor to be recognized for our work with students,” said Knudsen, Hartsville-Trousdale Chamber Executive Director. “Young people are the future of Trousdale County and we want to help them succeed in any way that we can.”
