Tennessee Central Annual Meeting a Success!

The Annual Board of Directors Meeting was held on July 28th in The Club at Fairvue Plantation.  This year celebrated the 30th Anniversary of the creation of the Four Lake Regional Industrial Development Authority (April 15, 1986) and the trasition to a new name beginning July 1, 2016, Tennessee Central Economic Authority.  

 

 

During lunch, Scott Ramsey with the Nashville Sports Council & Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, spoke to attendees about the busiest year yet for Nashville sporting events including SEC & NFL Football, NHL All-Star Games, SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, Golf Tournaments, and Marathons!  The economic impact for Nashville and the surrounding area has been substantial with over 350,000 spectators visiting the area to attend a Sports Council event during this fiscal year.

 

Legislators and/or their Representatives had opportunity to update the attendees on current legislative issues and regional progress.  Those attending included US Congressman Black; State Senator Beavers; State Representatives Pody & Lamberth.  US Senator's Corker & Alexander also had Representative's from their offices in attendance.

 

This year's Tennessee Central Economic Development Award was presented to G. C. Hixson, Executive Director of the Wilson County JECDB.  

 

Other recognitions included Frank McKee, UT/CTAS; Ron Fults, GNRC; and Philip Holder, Citizen's Bank & newest House appointed Board member, all of which were also present for the very first Four Lake Board of Directors organizational meeting held on August 21, 1987.

 

Lastly was the retirement (August 31st) announcement of Office Manager, Teresa Carman, after 26 years with the Authority.
