Commissioner Boyd visits Tennessee Central region
Jul 8 2016

Commissioner Randy Boyd toured three rural counties in the Tennessee Central region to review the industrial properties and meet with each county mayor.

His first stop was in Trousdale County at the Tennessee Central Economic Authority office.  He met with Mayor Carroll Carman during an overview of Nashville’s northeast quadrant of five counties.

After a tour of the PowerCom Industrial Center, the Commissioner traveled to Lafayette to meet with Macon County Mayor Steve Jones and Lafayette Mayor Richard Driver and view property targeted to be an expansion to the industrial park.  A tour of the existing industrial park and information on the Lafayette Technology Campus were presented.  Commissioner Boyd’s final stop was in Smith County where Mayor Michael Nesbitt guided a tour of two industrial parks and property to develop into a third.  Following the tour, Chamber Director Bill Woodard hosted the group where he and the mayor did a presentation and lunch

The tour was supported by our Legislators: Senator Farrell Haile; Rep. Kelly Keisling, and Rep. Terry Lynn Weaver.
Tennessee Central would like to thank Rebecca Smith and Jon Ward with Tennessee’s Department of Economic & Community Development in facilitating Commissioner Boyd’s visit.

Commissioner Boyd is strongly encouraging communities to develop industrial sites and properties for potential manufacturing and businesses.
