Chamber of Commerce plans annual meeting on Aug. 1

By Natalie Knudsen, Chamber of Commerce

The Hartsville-Trousdale Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 1. The meeting is open to the public and begins at noon at the Community Center located at 303 E. Main St.

“This is our opportunity to show everyone how the Chamber brings value to their business and to help explain our role in the community,” said Natalie Knudsen, Director of the Chamber.

The annual meeting looks back on activities and events sponsored by the Chamber in the past year while introducing plans for the upcoming year. Retiring board members will be recognized for their contributions and new board members will be introduced.

“I hope anyone and everyone in Hartsville and Trousdale County participates in this meeting,” Knudsen said. “It’s a great way to learn how you can become active in the Chamber.”

“We have a lot of fun at our annual meeting,” Knudsen added. “Businesses and individuals graciously donate a wide variety of door prizes and we also have a live auction conducted by Matthew Carman who volunteers his time to serve as our auctioneer.”

Numerous items will be auctioned, including gifts from Hartsville Pharmacy, Tri-County Electric, Cake & Company, a Bicentennial Commemorative Print custom framed by Dwight Jewell and more.

Tickets for a gourmet meal prepared by Chef Earl Burnley, followed by a dessert buffet, will available for $10 at the door.

“I just want to stress that everyone is invited and you do not have to purchase a lunch ticket to be eligible for door prizes or participate in the meeting or auction,” Knudsen said. “Join us!”
